Maria Teodora Adoracion "Dori" Ruano Sanchón (born January 11, 1969 in Villamayor de Armuña , Salamanca ) is a former Spanish cyclist .

Dori Ruano was a very versatile cyclist. In 1992 she had her first major success with a third place at the "Emakumeen Bira", a category 2.1 women's race held annually in the Basque Country ; In 1996 she won the overall ranking of the race.

In 1995 Ruano was the Spanish champion in the individual time trial on the road. In the following years she was able to occupy several podium places at Spanish road championships; In 1997 she was also runner- up in the points race .

In 1998 Teodora Ruano Sanchón became world champion in the points trial and again Spanish champion in the individual time trial on the road; In 1999, 2003 and 2004 she won the national title in this discipline several times. In 2001 she won both Spanish road titles and came third at the World Road Championships in the individual time trial.

Teodora Ruano Sanchón took part in the Olympic Games three times, in 1992 in Barcelona in the road race , in 2000 in Sydney in the points test and in the 500-meter time trial and in 2004 in Athens in the time trial and in the road race, but without taking a leading place.

In 2005 Teodor Ruano Sanchón resigned from active cycling. She is a trained sports teacher and works as a trainer. She is also a city councilor in Salamanca as a member of the Spanish Socialist Workers' Party, PSOE .
