Vera Carrara (born April 6, 1980 in Alzano Lombardo , Bergamo) is an Italian cyclist and three-time world champion on the track who has now switched to mountain bikes .

In 1998 Vera Carrara became Junior World Champion in the points race on the track. In 2002 she became European champion (youngsters) in the same discipline. At the 2004 Elite Track World Championships in Melbourne , she finished second in the points race, and in 2005 and 2006 she won the points race at the World Championships. In 2007 she also became European champion in the Omnium in Cottbus .

In their second appearance at the Olympic Games, in 2008 in Beijing , Vera Carrara got out of the road race. At the end of the season, she retired from cycling.

In autumn 2009, Vera Carrara announced that it is planning a comeback as a mountain biker with the aim at the Olympic Games 2012 in London to participate. However, she did not manage to qualify.
