Dubai tour

The Dubai Tour was a stage race in road cycling that was held in the Emirate of Dubai from 2014 to 2018 .

The competition was organized by the company RCS Sport , which is also responsible for the Giro d'Italia . The first edition ran over four stages. The race was classified by the World Cycling Association Union Cycliste Internationale 2014 in category 2.1 of the UCI Asia Tour 2014 ; the second edition in 2015 belonged to the higher category 2.HC.

For the Dubai Tour 2014 eleven ProTeams , the three best placed teams of the UCI Asia Tour as well as the national team of the United Arab Emirates and the new Dubai-Sky team registered. Among the participants were names like Mark Cavendish , Marcel Kittel , Peter Sagan and Fabian Cancellara . The first edition won Taylor Phinney . This was followed by wins for Mark Cavendish in 2015, Marcel Kittel in 2016 and 2017 and Elia Viviani in 2018.

For the 2019 season, the race was part of the UAE Tour , which led through the seven United Arab Emirates .
