The first UEC European Championships track of the Elite (European Elite Track Championships) found from 5 to 7 November 2010 in BGŻ Arena in Pruszkow place (Poland) near Warsaw. The cycling track there was planned by the Münster architect Ralph Schürmann and was already the site of the UCI Track World Championships in 2009 . The European Championships marked the beginning of a total of twelve competitions in qualifying for the 2012 Olympic Games in London . The “ Bund Deutscher Radfahrer ” (BDR) was represented with a 16-strong squad and “Swiss Cycling” with seven athletes.
The European Championships are organized by the " Union Européenne de Cyclisme " ("European Cycling Union") (UCE).
There were six disciplines on the program, the five Olympic for men and women. Only the two-man team event , which was removed from the Olympic program, was only held for men.
The most surprising event of the European Championship was the elimination of the multiple Olympic champion Sir Chris Hoy against the young 18-year-old Irishman Felix English in the 16th final.
