Clara Sanchez (born September 20, 1983 in Martigues ) is a former French track cyclist . She was twice world champion in keirin . She has been the coach of the French national team since 2016.
Athletic career
In 2001 Clara Sanchez took first place in the junior sprint at the European Championships in Fiorenzuola d'Arda ; In 2004 she became European champion in the Keirin . 14 times she has meanwhile become French champion in the sprint and 500 m time trial .
At the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, she finished fifth in the sprint.
In 2002, at the UCI Track World Championships in Copenhagen , she was runner-up in Keirin; this was followed by the 2004 World Cup in Melbourne and 2005 in Los Angeles . At the UCI Track World Championships in 2009 in Pruszków , she was again vice world champion in this discipline. At the 2010 European Championships , she won the team sprint title with Sandie Clair . In the 2010/2011 season she won the overall ranking of the Track Cycling World Cup in Keirin. At the UCI Track World Championships 2011 in Apeldoorn , she won bronze in the Keirin. At the UCI Track World Championships in 2011, she finished third in the Keirin. In 2013 she ended her active sports career.

Clara Sanchez has been working as a short-term trainer for the French cycling association FFC since 2016 .
