Anastassija Sergejewna Woinowa ( Russian Анастасия Сергеевна Войнова ; English transcription: Anastasia Voynova ; born February 5, 1993 in Moscow ) is a Russian cyclist and three-time world champion (as of 2016), who is mainly active in short-term disciplines on the track . She is one of the most successful track cyclists of the 2010s.
Athletic career
In 2010 Anastassija Woinowa in Saint Petersburg together with Jekaterina Gnidenko became Junior World Champion in Montichiari in the team sprint ; The two athletes set a new junior world record over 500 meters with 35.029 seconds. The following year she became three-time junior world champion (in the team sprint, sprint and kerin) and four-time European champion in the U23 category: in the 500-meter time trial , in the keirin , in the sprint and in the team sprint (with Tamara Balabolina ). In 2012 she won two European championship titles (U23), in the team sprint (with Wiktoria Baranowa ) and in the 500-meter time trial, and in 2013 she became the U23 European sprint champion.
In 2014, Voinowa became a five-time European champion, two titles in the U23 category and three titles in the European Elite Championships . At the UCI Track World Championships in 2015 , she won gold in her favorite discipline, the 500 meters. In this discipline she also won the title at the UEC European Rail Championships in 2015 , with a new world record time of 32.794 seconds. Together with Darja Schmeljowa , she was again European champion in the team sprint.
In 2016, Anastassija Woinowa became two-time world champion in London , in the 500-meter time trial and, together with Schmeljowa, in the team sprint. In the same year she was nominated for participation in the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro . Together with Darja Schmeljowa, she won the silver medal in the team sprint and was fourth in the Keirin. The following year she was again together with Schmeljowa world champion in the team sprint.
In 2016 , 2017 , 2018 and 2019 Anastassija Woinowa and Schmeljowa became European champion in the team sprint, and in 2019 also European champion in the sprint. At the UCI Bahn World Championships 2020 in Berlin in February , she won the silver medal in the sprint behind Emma Hinze .
