Damian Wojciech Zieliński (born December 2, 1981 in Szczecin ) is a Polish track cyclist .

Athletic career

Damian Zieliński has been internationally successful in track cycling since 2002. In 2004 he was European champion in the Omnium in Valencia , in 2005 in Fiorenzuola d'Arda in the team sprint with Łukasz Kwiatkowski and Kamil Kuczyński and in 2006 second in the Omnium.

At the UEC European Rail Championships 2010 in Pruszków , Zieliński was disqualified in the sprint competition in front of a home crowd after two warnings. In the same year, at the European Rail Championships in Apeldoorn , he won bronze in the team sprint with Kuczyński and Maciej Bielecki and silver in the team sprint in 2012 with Kuczyński, Bielecki and Krzysztof Maksel . At the UEC European Rail Championships 2015 in Grenchen , Zielinski was third in the sprint.

In 2004 Damian Zieliński took part in the Olympic Games in Athens and finished seventh in the sprint and ninth in the team sprint with Kwiatkowski and Rafał Furman , at the 2012 Olympic Games in London he started in the sprint (15th) and team sprint (10th) disciplines ., with Bielecki and Kuczyński). Also in 2016 he was nominated for participation in the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro . Together with Rafał Sarnecki and Krzysztof Maksel, he finished seventh in the team sprint, sixth in the keirin and 14th in the sprint.
