Henryk Szamota

Henryk Szamota (born February 10, 1910 in Kiev ; † September 12, 2002 in the USA ) was a Polish cyclist and national cycling champion .

Athletic career

Three times (1929, 1930 and 1931 (here before Artur Pusz )) he won the Polish sprint championship . He was four times in the sprint at the start of the UCI track world championships . In 1929 he was able to advance to the quarter-finals, it was his best result. Several times he set Polish records over short distances such as over 200 meters and 500 meters. In 1932 he switched to professional drivers . He emigrated to France and then later went to the United States. After the Second World War he was a car racing driver and an official in motorsport .
