Krzysztof Maksel (born July 4, 1991 in Paczków ) is a Polish track cyclist .

Athletic career

In 2009 Krzysztof Maksel finished in Moscow together with Paweł Laskowski and Kacper Leśniak at the UCI Junior World Championships 2009 in third place in the team sprint . In the same year he was two-time vice European junior champion, in the 1000-meter time trial and in the team sprint, also with Laskowski and Lesniak. In 2012 he was on the podium four times at the UEC European Track Championships (U23): a second place in the Keirin and in the team sprint (with Rafał Sarnecki and Grzegorz Drejgier ) and a third place in the sprint and time trial.

In 2013, Krzysztof Maksel, who had previously won national junior titles several times, became Polish champion in the elite sprint.

In 2016 Maksel was nominated for participation in the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro . In the team sprint, he finished seventh with Rafał Sarnecki and Damian Zieliński , and in the keirin he was ninth. In the following year he won the gold medal in the 1000 meter time trial at the third round of the Track Cycling World Cup in Cali .
