The Krylatskoye Velodrome is a multifunctional sports hall with a cycle track in the Krylatskoye district of Moscow . The Velodrome was built in 1980 on the occasion of the 1980 Olympic Games in Moscow by the architects Alexander Ospennikow and N. Voronina. The cycling track is made of Siberian larch wood , 333.33 meters long and is one of the fastest tracks in the world. Numerous world records were set on the track . Four times - 1989, 2003, 2009 and 2011 - the UCI Junior Track World Championships took place here, as well as races of the Track Cycling World and European Cups. The official opening took place on October 27, 1979 with several competitions of Soviet track cyclists.

Competitions in indoor soccer , handball , athletics , tennis and other sports are also possible in the sports hall. There is space for around 3000 spectators in the stands.
