Helena Casas Roigé (born July 24, 1988 in Vila-seca , Tarragona ) is a Spanish track cyclist who specializes in short-term disciplines.

Athletic career

In 2007 Helena Casas was two-time Spanish champion, in the 500-meter time trial and in the sprint . In 2008 she took third place in the Omnium at the European Railway Championships in Alkmaar . At the UCI Track World Championships in Copenhagen in 2010 , she was 19th in the time trial and 24th in the sprint. In 2011 Casas won the national title in Keirin and was second in the time trial, in the sprint and in the team sprint , together with Alba Diaz . At the UCI Track World Championships in Melbourne in 2012 , she was ninth in the team sprint with Tania Calvo .

In 2016 Casa and Calvo won the team sprint competition in two races of the Track Cycling World Cup . In the same year she was nominated for participation in the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro , where she finished 26th in the sprint and 17th in the keirin. Together with Tania Calvo, she finished seventh in the team sprint. At the UEC European Rail Championships in 2016 , she and Calvo won the silver medal in the team sprint.
