Arno van der Zwet (born May 7, 1986 in Heerhugowaard ) is a former Dutch track and road cyclist .

Athletic career

Arno van der Zwet was the Dutch runner-up in 2006 in Alkmaar in the points run on the track. The following year he finished third in the scratch at the national championship . On the road, he came second in the ZLM Tour . In the 2008 season he was once stage runner-up in the Tour of Chalkidiki . At the 2008/09 Track Cycling World Cup in Melbourne , he was third in the team pursuit with Ismaël Kip , Peter Schep and Wim Stroetinga , and in 2009 the Dutch championship in points. Several times he was part of the cast of the Dutch four-man team with whom he won the bronze medal at the European Championships (with Levi Heimans , Tim Veldt and Sipke Zijlstra ). In 2013 he won a stage of the Olympia's Tour . Two years later he also started this local tour, crashed into a tree during the third stage and broke two vertebrae .

In 2016 he ended his cycling career.
