Willem "Wim" Stroetinga (born May 23, 1985 in Drachten ) is a Dutch cyclist who is active on track and road .
Athletic career
In 2002 Wim Stroetinga became Junior World Champion in scratch , the following year she was Junior European Champion in points race. In 2004 he won his first national title and became Dutch champion in scratch; He was able to repeat this success several times in the following years. In 2008 he became European champion in the Omnium
From 2005 Stroetinga rode for the Dutch cycling team Löwik Meubelen and since then has also started increasingly on the road. In 2011 he won the Ronde van Midden-Nederland , by 2015 he had won a total of 13 stages of the Olympia's Tour , in which he was also second overall in 2014. In addition, he won 14 national titles on the track (until 2016) and also contested several six-day races, of which he won the Rotterdam race with Peter Schep in 2012 and the Bremen race with Leif Lampater in 2014 .
In 2016 Stroetinga was nominated for participation in the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro . He started in the team pursuit with Joost van der Burg , Jan-Willem van Schip and Nils van 't Hoenderdaal , but the Dutch four-man was unable to place due to a fall. In 2018 he won the six-day races in Berlin and London together with Yoeri Havik .
