Jens Mouris (born March 12, 1980 in Ouder-Amstel ) is a Dutch cyclist .

Career

At the beginning of his career, Jens Mouris mainly focused on track cycling . After he became the Dutch champion in the single pursuit in 2004, he took part in the Olympic Games in Athens and finished fifth in the team pursuit . At the World Track Cycling Championships in Los Angeles in 2005 , he won the silver medal in the team pursuit behind the Great Britain team, together with Peter Schep , Niki Terpstra and Levi Heimans . A year later he secured second place in the single pursuit behind defending champion Robert Bartko at the World Championships in Bordeaux . He was European champion twice: 2006 in the Omnium and 2007 in the Madison with Peter Schep. In 2013 Mouris won the Dutch championship in Madison together with Wim Stroetinga .

On the road , Mouris won the one-day race Ronde van Overijssel in 2004 and the prologue of the Delta Tour Zeeland in 2008 . After some engagements with UCI Continental Teams , he switched to the UCI Professional Continental Team and later UCI ProTeam Vacansoleil in 2009 . With this team he won bronze at the UCI road world championships in 2012 and silver in the team time trial in 2013 and 2014 .
