Moreno De Pauw (born August 12, 1991 in Sint-Niklaas ) is a former Belgian cyclist who was active on track and road .
Athletic career
Moreno De Pauw comes from a cycling family. In 2006 he was Belgian youth champion in the sprint , second in the single pursuit and third in the 500-meter time trial . The following year he was, also in the youth class, three-time Belgian champion, in the single pursuit, in the time trial and with Gijs Van Hoecke in the two-man team ; in the sprint he was runner-up. In 2008 he started in the juniors and won the national championship title in time trial, pursuit and omnium ; in the team pursuit he was second in the championship, together with Niels Van Laer , Ken De Fauw and Van Hoecke. At the UCI Junior World Championships in 2008 he won the silver medal in the Omnium. In 2009 he was Belgian runner-up in the junior category in the Omnium.
In 2012 De Pauw took third place in the team pursuit at the European Rail Championships (U23), together with Jasper De Buyst , Gijs Van Hoecke and Joris Cornet . He was also registered for the team pursuit for the Olympic Games in London , but was not used.
With his compatriot Kenny De Ketele , De Pauw won the London six-day race in 2015. The following year he won a total of five national titles at the Belgian track cycling championships and, together with De Ketele, was third in the two-man team at the European championships . In 2017 Moreno De Pauw and De Ketele won the bronze medal in the two-man team driving at the World Track Championships . With Fabio Van den Bossche , he finished fourth in the two-man team at the 2019 European Games .
In November 2019, De Pauw contested his last six-day race in Gent and then said goodbye to competitive cycling, but returned to the Berlin six-day race in 2020 and won it with Wim Stroetinga.
