Nicky Cocquyt (born October 14, 1984 in Evergem ) is a former Belgian track and road cyclist .

Athletic career

Nicky Cocquyt was Belgian track cycling champion in the Omnium in the youth class in 2000. In the 2005 season he won the one-day race Brussel-Zepperen. On the track he won the UIV Cup in Gent with Davy Tuytens . The next year they won two races in the UIV Cup series and also won the overall standings. In 2006 and 2007 Cocquyt won one stage each in the Ronde van Antwerpen. In the 2008 season he won the one-day race De Drie Zustersteden .

Since 2010 Cocquyt has been primarily active on the railway. In 2010 and 2011 he was Belgian champion in the Omnium , in 2013 and 2016 together with Moreno De Pauw in two-man team driving.

Professional

At the end of 2018, Nicky Cocquyt took over as the successor to Kenny De Ketele as the Belgian national coach of the youth national team in the field of endurance.
