Ingrid Persohn , married . Weigel (born March 20, 1952 in Kandel ) is a former German cyclist .

Ingrid Persohn began cycling at the age of ten, and when she was 15 she rode her first race on a rented racing bike (she only bought her own in 1970). In 1967 she achieved her first success at the Palatinate Championships, where she took second place.

In 1970 Ingrid Persohn started with the women, although actually still too young, and became the second German road champion . She was able to repeat this success in 1971 and 1975; In 1973 she finished second. In 1972, when the German Road Championship was taking place in her home town of Hatzenbühl , she fell while in the lead a few meters from the finish. In 1971 she was the only German female racing driver to compete in the Road World Championships in Mendrisio , but only finished 37th.

In 1976 Ingrid Persohn resigned from active cycling. Since the beginning of her cycling career she was a member of the "RV Rosalia 1908 Hatzenbühl eV". From 1976 to 1999 she was the female manager of the Palatinate Cycling Association, from 1990 to 1995 she trained her own daughter Bettina and is still a gymnastics instructor today. Ingrid Persohn has also been politically active for over 25 years and has been a member of the Hatzenbühl municipal council since 1994.

Ingrid Persohn worked as a seamstress for Daimler-Benz for several years , but also ran tobacco-growing , for which Hatzenbühl is known, with her husband, who died in 1996 .
