Max Kanter (born October 22, 1997 in Cottbus ) is a German racing cyclist .

Athletic career

From 2008 to 2015 Max Kanter was active in cycling as a member of the RSC Cottbus . In 2014 and 2015 he was the German junior champion in the team pursuit .

In 2016, Kanter rose to the U23 age group and received a contract with the UCI Continental Team LKT Team Brandenburg and was a trainee with the UCI WorldTeam Sunweb from August 1st . In his first elite year he was German scratch champion at the German track championships in Cottbus . In 2017 he joined the Sunweb Development Team and won the German U23 road championships in a sprint from a top group of 15. At the road world championships in the same year, he finished seventh in the U23 road race.

In 2018 he was second in the U23 version of the Tour of Flanders as the sprint winner of the chasing group and defended the U23 road race championship in a mass sprint . At the end of the season he switched to WorldTeam Sunweb as a stagiaire , for which he received a regular contract from 2019.
