RSC Cottbus

The RSC Cottbus is a cycling club in Cottbus .

The RSC Cottbus emerged from the cycling section of SC Cottbus , which was the most successful section of the club, with 21 world championship titles and three Olympic gold medals. The most successful cyclists included Lutz Heßlich (4 × world champion, 2 × Olympic champion), Lothar Thoms (4 × world champion, 1 × Olympic champion), Volker Winkler (4 × world champion), Jens Glücklich (4 × world champion), Bernd Drogan (3 × World champion) and Hans-Joachim Hartnick (1 × world champion, winner of the international peace drive 1976 ). According to the association, a total of 134 German champions, 15 European champions, 52 world champions and 7 Olympic champions have started their sporting development in the RSC.

After the reunification , the RSC Cottbus was founded in October 1992. At drivers who emerged from its ranks, u. a. to mention are the internationally successful Annett Neumann , Olaf Pollack , Danilo Hondo , Torsten Nitsche , Katrin Meinke , Thorsten Rund , Ronny Scholz , Christin Muche , Maximilian Levy and many more.

Currently (2011) the association has around 300 members. He also hosts numerous races, including the International Junior stage race and the Spreewald- Masters -Rundfahrt and in Cottbus Radstadion the Cottbus Sprinter Cup and the internationally attended the Grand Prix of Germany in the sprint .
