German road cycling championships 2005

The 80th German Road Cycling Championships 2005 took place in Mannheim with the road race for women and men (June 26th) and the individual time trial for women, men and men U23 (all on June 24th) in Schweinfurt . The men's U23 championship was held on June 5th in Wörth an der Donau .

In the men's road race, 19-year-old Gerald Ciolek from the Wiesenhof-Akud team won the road race . He defeated Robert Förster ( Gerolsteiner ) and Erik Zabel ( Team T-Mobile ) in the sprint . As a result, for the first time since 1991, no rider from the Telekom / T-Mobile team won the German road cycling championship.

Regina Schleicher won the women's sprint. In the same year she became world champion.

In the men's time trial , Michael Rich won ahead of Sebastian Lang and Jens Voigt . Judith Arndt won the women .
