Mathias Belka

Mathias Belka (born June 15, 1986 in Cottbus ) is a German road cyclist .

Mathias Belka came second in the junior class at the Lower Saxony Tour in 2004 in the overall ranking behind Blel Kadri and won the overall individual ranking of the junior cycling league. In the 2007 season he took third place in the overall ranking of the Tour of Thuringia . From 2008 he drove for the German Continental Team LKT Brandenburg . In his second year there he won the Sachsenringradrennen and the Polish one-day race Puchar Uzdrowisk Karpackich . He was also third in Rund um Köln and 14th in the Eschborn-Frankfurt City Loop .

At the end of the 2012 season, he retired from his career to finish his studies. According to him, the background was that he did not manage to get a contract with a higher-class cycling team in order to continue cycling on a professional level.
