Alexander Gottfried

Alexander Gottfried (born July 5, 1985 in Pavlodar , Kazakh SSR ) is a German racing cyclist .

Gottfried began his international career in 2005 with the German Continental Team Sparkasse . In his first year he won the seventh stage of the Tour de l'Avenir , the most important stage race for cyclists under the age of 25. In the 2006 season he was sixth in the overall ranking of the Tour of Thuringia and fifth in Rund um den Sachsenring . In the final ranking of the International German Championship , he finished fourth.

At the end of the 2013 season, Gottfried ended his international cycling career and switched to the nationally registered racing community Stölting , which is organizationally linked to the Stölting team of the same name .

His father is the cyclist Wladimir Gottfried, who became world champion in his Masters age class 55–59 in the individual time trial in 2008 and was European champion in road racing and in the individual time trial.
