Jasha Sütterlin (born November 4, 1992 in Freiburg im Breisgau ) is a German racing cyclist . He is considered a strong time trial .
Athletic career
Jasha Sütterlin took fourth place in the individual time trial at the 2009 European Junior Championships in Hooglede-Gits . In the 2010 season he drove for the Rothaus Baden team and won a stage at the Trofeo Karlsberg, was German champion in the junior individual time trial and won the overall ranking of the Lower Saxony Tour. He also won the silver medal in the individual time trial at the Junior World Championships and finished eighth in the road race.
In the seasons 2011 to 2013 Sütterlin drove for the Thuringian Energy Team . In July 2013, Sütterlin took third place in the U23 individual time trial over 23 kilometers at the European Road Championships in Brno .
For the 2014 season, Sütterlin received a contract with the Spanish UCI ProTeam Movistar . The following season he contested his first Grand Tour with the Giro d'Italia 2015 , which he finished in 113th. He also won the bronze medal in the team time trial at the 2015 Road World Championships . At the German Road Cycling Championships in 2016 , he won the silver medal in the individual time trial.
With an attack 800 meters from the finish, Sütterlin won the final stage of the Vuelta a la Comunidad de Madrid in 2017 and thus his first international elite race. After finishing second in the German time trial championships , he drove the Tour de France for the first time and finished the tour in 108th place.
In 2019, Sütterlin won the silver medal at the World and European Championships with the German mixed relay .
For the 2020 season, Sütterlin switched to Team Sunweb .
