Hooglede is a Belgian municipality in the Flanders region with 9987 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2019). It consists of the main town and the district of Gits .

Four km to the southeast is Roeselare , 20 km to the southeast of Kortrijk , Bruges is 26 km to the north, Ghent is 45 km to the east-northeast and Brussels is about 90 km to the east of Hooglede.

The next motorway exit is at Ardooie on the A17 . The nearest regional train stations are in
Roeselare, Lichtervelde and Kortemark , and national express trains stop in Bruges and Ghent. There is a
regional airport near Ostend and an international airport near the capital, Brussels.

War cemetery

One of the four surviving German war cemeteries from the First World War is located in Hooglede . The others are in Vladslo , Langemark and Menen .

Hooglede has been partnered with the Schnelldorf municipality in the German state of Bavaria since 1988 .
