Bredene (popularly Brènienge ) is a municipality in the Belgian province of West Flanders . It has 18,095 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2019).

Bredene is particularly popular with camping enthusiasts because of the more than 30 competing campsites. The main source of income for the municipality is tourism.

Bredene is the only Belgian seaside resort with a nude beach . The municipality does not have a dike, but has an uninterrupted row of dunes, which makes it unique on the Belgian coast. So you have the impression of a natural beach and at the same time you are close to the place. Bredene with its beaches and dunes can be reached with the so-called Kusttram .
