Beernem is a Belgian municipality in the Flanders region . It is located in the province of West Flanders and belongs to the Arrondissement of Bruges . The municipality consists of the three localities Beernem, Oedelem and Sint-Joris .

Beernem is located 24 km south of the Belgian coast. Bruges is 11 km north-west, Ghent 30 km south-east and Brussels 80 km south-east.

The place has a motorway exit on the A10 / E 40 and a regional train station on the Ostend - Bruges - Beernem - Ghent - Brussels route ; the nearest train stations with international train connections are in Bruges and Ghent.

There is a regional airport near Ostend and an international airport near the capital Brussels.
