Location of the district of Bruges in the province of West Flanders

The district of Bruges is one of eight districts (arrondissements) in the Belgian province of West Flanders . It covers an area of ​​661.29 km² with 282,209 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2019) in ten municipalities.

It is both an administrative and a judicial district. The judicial district also includes all municipalities in the Ostend district , most of the municipalities in the Tielt district with the exception of Dentergem , Meulebeke , Oostrozebeke and Wielsbeke and the municipality of Lichtervelde, which belongs to the Roeselare district .
