The district of Aalst is one of six administrative districts (arrondissements) in the Belgian province of East Flanders . It covers an area of ​​468.92 km² with 291,229 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2019) in ten municipalities.

The two municipalities of Sint-Lievens-Houtem and Zottegem belong to the judicial district of Oudenaarde , the others to the judicial district of Dendermonde .
