Kortemark is a Belgian municipality in the Flanders region with 12,616 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2019). It consists of the core town and the districts of Handzame , Werken and Zarren .

Roeselare is 10 km south, Diksmuide 12 km west, Bruges 22 km north-east, Ostend on the Belgian coast 23 km north-north-west, Ghent 47 km west and Brussels 93 km east- south- east.

The next motorway exit is a few kilometers east at Lichtervelde on the A17 .
Kortemark has a regional train station on the Dunkirk -Diksmuide-Kortemark-Lichtervelde railway line . a. in Lichtervelde, Torhout and Roeselare. National express trains also stop in Ostend and Bruges.
