Town twinning
Pittem has been officially twinned with the American city of Shawnee since 1984 . Since then there has been an annual exchange between the two communities.
We have been on friendly terms with the French community of La Meyze in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region since 1981. As a result, the mayors of the two municipalities signed an official town twinning document on July 16, 2000, which was passed by the Pittem municipal council on October 30, 2000.
