Career
Ysebaert played for the Petrolia Jets between 1982 and 1984 during his junior years . Here he moved into the field of vision of the scouts of the National Hockey League as a top scorer and was selected in the fourth round of the NHL Entry Draft in 1984 by the New Jersey Devils as 74th. After the draft, he played for Bowling Green State University in the National Collegiate Athletic Association . After good performance there, the Devils brought him to their AHL farm team in 1987 with the Utica Devils .
For the 1988/89 season he came to five missions in the NHL for the first time, but played mostly in Utica, where he won the Les Cunningham Award as the most valuable player in the league . Shortly after the beginning of the 1990/91 season , he moved to the Detroit Red Wings . Here he made the breakthrough. Thanks to his accurate shot, he managed to score over 30 goals twice in the coming years and won the NHL plus / minus rating once. In exchange for Aaron Ward , he moved to the Winnipeg Jets for the 1993/94 season , but shortly before the end of the season he had to move again. His new team were the Chicago Blackhawks .
He didn't stay long in Chicago either. After 15 games in the following season, it went on to the Tampa Bay Lightning . Here he was one of the veterans. Even if he could not continue the good years in Detroit, he was still an important part of the team and also team captain for two years . In his final season in 1998/99 he was also used more often in the International Hockey League with the Cleveland Lumberjacks .
For the 1999/2000 season he moved to Switzerland for SC Rapperswil-Jona . He then ended his active career.
