Christopher A. "Chris" Gratton (born July 5, 1975 in Brantford , Ontario ) is a former Canadian ice hockey player who played 1132 games for the Tampa Bay Lightning , Philadelphia Flyers , Buffalo Sabers , Phoenix Coyotes , Colorado Avalanche , Florida Panthers and Columbus Blue Jackets in the National Hockey League on the position of the center has denied. Gratton celebrated his greatest career success in the jersey of the Canadian national team at the 1997 World Cup .
Career
Chris Gratton began his career as a hockey player with the Kingston Frontenacs , for which he was active from 1991 to 1993 in the Ontario Hockey League . He was then selected in the 1993 NHL Entry Draft in the first round as the third overall player from the Tampa Bay Lightning, for which he played the following four years in the National Hockey League . He then signed a contract as a free agent with the Philadelphia Flyers before returning to Tampa Bay during the 1998/99 season , which passed him on to the Buffalo Sabers shortly before the end of the trade deadline in the 1999/2000 season . After three seasons, the Sabers transferred the center also shortly before the end of the trade deadline to the Phoenix Coyotes, for whom he played for a year before ending the 2003/04 season at the Colorado Avalanche. During the lockout in the 2004/05 NHL season, Gratton paused with the ice hockey before he received a contract with the Florida Panthers after resumption of play in the NHL, for which he was active for two years, before he was a third time in 2007 the Tampa Bay Lightning signed, which gave him before the end of the trade deadline in the 2008/09 season to the Columbus Blue Jackets after they had previously posted him to the farm team in the American Hockey League .
International
For Canada , Gratton took part in the 1993 Junior World Championships and the 1997 and 1998 World Championships .
