history
In the summer of 2007, the collaboration with the Chicago Blackhawks ended and a cooperation agreement with the Tampa Bay Lightning from the National Hockey League was concluded, which lasted until 2012. They have been working with the Anaheim Ducks since 2012.
In the 2011/12 season , the team won the Calder Cup for the first time , after having regularly reached the playoffs since its inception, but had never made it past the second round.
In January 2015, the American Hockey League announced an extensive restructuring for the 2015/16 season , as part of which a new Pacific Division was established and five teams relocated to California . This also affected the Norfolk Admirals, who henceforth operate as San Diego Gulls . The name Norfolk Admirals continues to exist as an ECHL team ( Norfolk Admirals ), which, however, emerged from the Bakersfield Condors .
