Auguste Denis Fougeroux de Bondaroy

Auguste Denis Fougeroux de Bondaroy (born October 10, 1732 in Paris , † December 28, 1789 ibid) was a French botanist . He was a nephew of the botanist and engineer Henri Louis Duhamel du Monceau (1700–1782). Its official botanical author's abbreviation is “ Foug. ".

From 1758 he belonged to the Académie des Sciences in Paris. In 1783 he was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh . The plant genera Fougeria Moench and Fougerouxia Cass are named after him . from the sunflower family (Asteraceae).
