The Quad City Flames were a hockey team from the North American American Hockey League (AHL) and based in Moline , Illinois . The franchise was set in the Quad Cities region from 2007 to 2009 and previously played under the name Omaha Ak-Sar-Ben Knights in Omaha , Nebraska .
The team acted as the farm team for the Calgary Flames of the National Hockey League . The togetherness of both teams was also evident in the team logo, which consisted of the flaming "C" for the Calgary Flames and a flaming "Q" for the Quad City Flames.

The Quad City Flames franchise had belonged to the Calgary Flames since 1993 and operated as Saint John Flames in the AHL until 2003 , but then the team stopped playing. In 2005 the franchise resumed business and was named Omaha Ak-Sar-Ben Knights . But after two disappointing financial years, the Calgary Flames decided the team to the region of the Quad Cities to Moline , Illinois to relocate and change its name to Quad City Flames.
The Flames played their games in the iWireless Center .
After two unsuccessful years in sport, the decision was made to relocate the franchise to Abbotsford in the Canadian province of British Columbia .
