Heinz Albert Rinn (born December 22, 1934 in Heuchelheim ; † March 22, 2019 in Schweinfurt ) was a German cyclist and cycling trainer.

Athletic career

Albert Rinn began cycling in Giessen at the age of 15 . In 1956 he became German champion in cyclo-cross racing . After 13 years of racing with 35 victories, he stopped active cycling.

Trainer and functionary

From 1963 Rinn became involved in RV 89 Schweinfurt as a youth leader. At the same time he worked closely with national trainer Otto Ziege as a supervisor for the national road team ; at the Tour de France 1968 he was assistant to the German team boss Hans Preiskeit . From 1969 he initially worked as a freelance trainer for the Bavarian Cycling Association, from 1974 as a permanent regional association trainer. Racing drivers Dieter Burkhardt , Dieter Flögel and Steffen Rein were among his protégés . He also made great efforts to train other coaches. After retiring as an association trainer, he supported the sports director of the Nürnberger team , Udo Sprenger, in his work from 1997 to 2000 .

Albert Rinn died on March 22, 2019 after a long and serious illness in Schweinfurt.
