Horst fighter

Horst Kämper (* 1941 ; † September 11, 1995 in Kreuztal-Krombach ) was a German racing cyclist .

The from Attendorn coming fighters had scored three German Bergmeister of amateur cyclists : he won his first title in September 1965 at Kreuztaler Kindelsberg , after which he was appointed to the national team. In 1966 he was second in the German Mountain Championship. In 1967 and 1969 he was able to win the two other championship titles in mountain driving.

In 1970 fighter took third place at the German amateur road championships behind winner Erwin Derlick.

In 1969, fighter finished third in the 15th stage of the Milk Race in Blackpool . However, he was then convicted of doping .

After his active time, Kämper opened a bicycle shop in Kreuztal-Krombach, but he remained connected to cycling as a supervisor and promoter of cycling tourism and popular sports. One of his protégés was the future world champion Klaus-Peter Thaler . Fighter died unexpectedly of a heart attack at the age of 54.
