Herbert Wilde

Herbert Wilde (born July 31, 1940 in Mengen ) is a former German cyclist and national cycling champion .

Athletic career

He had his first major successes in 1963 with second place in the race around Cologne behind Winfried Bölke , also behind Bölke he was third in the German championship of amateur e in road racing . In 1965 he became a professional driver in the German torpedo racing team alongside Peter Glemser . He always drove in the same team until the end of his career (even after changing sponsors to Batavus ). Wilde in 1969 won the title of German Champion in mountain driving the professionals . In 1967 he started for the German selection in the Tour de France and was classified as 63rd. In the following year 1968 he came 44th in Paris in the final ranking. As a professional, he was able to win several criteria and circuit races.
