Robert Charpentier

Robert Charpentier (born April 14, 1916 in Issy-les-Moulineaux , Yvelines department , † October 28, 1966 in Issy-les-Moulineaux) was a French cyclist .

Charpentier was a three-time Olympic champion in cycling at the 1936 Summer Olympics in Berlin . He won the individual road race and two team competitions. From 1937 to 1951 he was active as a professional driver.

After the Second World War , Charpentier competed in both the Tour de France and Paris-Brest-Paris in 1948 , but had to give up every time.

In June 2005, the sports center in his hometown Issy was named after him.
