Michel Vermeulin
Michel Hervé Vermeulin (born September 6, 1934 in Paris ) is a former French cyclist and Olympic champion.
In 1956, Michel Vermeulin started in three disciplines at the Olympic Games in Melbourne . In the team competition of road drivers - the times of the best three drivers of a nation in road racing were added together - he won gold, together with Armand Geyre and Maurice Moucheraud . He finished twelfth in the individual road race and won silver in the team pursuit with Jean-Claude Lecante , Jean Graczyk and René Bianchi .
In 1958, Vermeulin became a professional , but subsequently did not achieve any major successes. In 1959 he won the Longines Trofeo in Italy with a team that consisted of Jacques Anquetil , André Darrigade , Seamus Elliott and Jean Graczyk . In 1960 he won the GP Fourmies . He started three times in the Tour de France ; In 1959 he wore the yellow jersey for three days and was 20th overall. In 1966 he ended his cycling career.
