René Bianchi

René Bianchi (born May 20, 1934 in Conflans-Sainte-Honorin ) is a former French cyclist and national champion in cycling .

Athletic career

As an amateur he started for the UV Aube club. Bianchi won in 1956 at the Summer Olympics in Melbourne with the French team the silver medal in the team pursuit on the track behind the four from Italy . In 1955 he had won the Paris - Rouen road race, and Paris - Vailly a year later . In 1959 he became French champion in the single pursuit . In 1960 he released a license as an independent and received a contract with the Peugeot team , in which Rik van Steenbergen was team principal. He ended his career just a year later.
