Marcello Bartalini

Marcello Bartalini (born March 12, 1962 in Empoli ) is a former Italian cyclist and Olympic champion in cycling .

Athletic career

1984 was the year of his greatest success. At the Summer Olympics in Los Angelos , he won the team time trial title together with Claudio Vandelli , Marco Giovanetti and Eros Poli . When he started the International Peace Tour in May of this year , he retired after a fall. A year later he also won bronze in the team time trial at the UCI Road World Championships . In 1988 he became a professional driver and drove for various Italian teams until 1989, but without winning.
