Empoli is a city of 48,834 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the Italian metropolitan city of Florence , Tuscany .
geography
The city on the Arno and Elsa rivers has an area of 62 km². It is located around 20 km west of the provincial and regional capital of Florence .
The districts include Avane, Corniola, Fontanella, Marcignana, Monterappoli, Pagnana, Ponte a Elsa, Pontormo and Pozzale.
The neighboring municipalities are Capraia e Limite , Castelfiorentino , Cerreto Guidi , Montelupo Fiorentino , Montespertoli , San Miniato ( PI ) and Vinci .
