Scarperia e San Piero is an Italian commune with 12,206 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the metropolitan city of Florence in the Tuscany region and is a member of the association I borghi più belli d'Italia (The Most Beautiful Places in Italy).

The place is about 26 km north of the provincial and regional capital Florence . The municipality is located in the Mugello countryside on the Sieve River .
The neighboring municipalities are Barberino di Mugello , Borgo San Lorenzo , Calenzano , Firenzuola and Vaglia .
history
The municipality was created on January 1, 2014 by merging the previously independent municipalities of San Piero a Sieve and Scarperia . In the referendum of October 6th and 7th, 2013, 55.93% (33.53% turnout) in San Piero a Sieve voted in favor of the union, in Scarperia 73.98% (37.37% turnout). The law merging the two municipalities is Legge Regionale n.67 of November 22, 2013. The town hall is located in Scarperia.
