Laguiole is a French commune with 1242 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Aveyron department in the Occitanie region . Administratively it belongs to the Arrondissement of Rodez .
geography
Laguiole is located at an altitude of about 1000 meters on the western edge of the Aubrac plateau in the Massif Central . The Selves , a tributary of the Truyère, rises in the north-east of the 63 km² municipal area . The terrain rises to the east and reaches the highest point in the municipality on an unnamed ridge at 1342 m above sea level. In the northeast the 1298 m high Roc du Cayla characterizes the landscape, in the southeast (district Le Bouyssou) around the ski area ( Station de Ski de Laguiole ) heights of 1300 m are also reached.
