Montpeyroux ( Occitan : Mont Peirós ) is a French commune with 541 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Aveyron department of the Occitania region ; it belongs to the arrondissement of Rodez and the canton of Aubrac et Carladez (until 2015: canton of Laguiole ). The inhabitants are called Montepéroutins .

geography

Montpeyroux is located about 32 kilometers northeast of Rodez in the Aubrac landscape in the Massif Central . Montpeyroux is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Soulages-Bonneval in the north, Laguiole in the northeast, Curières in the east, Condom-d'Aubrac in the southeast, Le Cayrol and Coubisou in the south, Le Nayrac in the southwest, Florentin-la-Capelle in the west and Saint- Amans-des-Cots in the northwest.
