Taussac ( identical in Occitan ) is a place and a municipality in the south of France with 520 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Aveyron department in the Occitania region (before 2016 Midi-Pyrénées ). The place belongs to the former county of Carladès in the historical province of Rouergue . Taussac is part of the arrondissement of Rodez and the canton of Aubrac et Carladez (until 2015 Mur-de-Barrez ). The inhabitants are called Taussacois .

Taussac is located about 55 kilometers north-northeast of Rodez . Taussac is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Raulhac in the north, Mur-de-Barrez in the east and north-east, Brommat in the east, Lacroix-Barrez in the south, Murols in the south-west, Vezels-Roussy in the west and south-west and Cros-de-Ronesque in the west and north-west .
