Campagnac ( Occitan : Campanhac ) is a French commune with 450 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Aveyron department in the Occitanie region . It belongs to the arrondissement of Rodez and the canton of Tarn et Causses (until 2015: canton of Campagnac ). The inhabitants are called Cabassols .

geography

Campagnac is located in the valley of the Lot River in the south Massif Central , between the Causse de Sévérac plateau in the south and the Aubrac in the north. The landscape around is also called Pays d'Olt . The municipality is part of the Grands Causses Regional Nature Park . Campagnac is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Laurent-d'Olt in the north, Banassac-Canilhac with Canilhac in the northeast, La Tieule in the east, Sévérac-le-Château in the south, Lapanouse in the southwest, Saint-Saturnin-de-Lenne in the west and La Capelle-Bonance in the northwest.

The A75 autoroute runs through the southeast of the municipality . The station in the municipality is served by trains on the Béziers – Neussargues line.
