Banassac-Canilhac is a French commune with 1,044 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Lozère department in the administrative region of Occitania . It belongs to the canton of La Canourgue and the Arrondissement of Mende .
It was created as Commune nouvelle with effect from January 1, 2016 by merging the previous municipalities of Banassac and Canilhac . The administrative headquarters are in Banassac. The former municipalities do not have the status of a Commune déléguée .

Banassac-Canilhac is bordered to the northwest by Saint-Pierre-de-Nogaret , to the north by Saint-Germain-du-Teil , to the east by La Canourgue , to the southeast by Saint-Saturnin , to the south by La Tieule , to the southwest by Campagnac and to the west at Saint-Laurent-d'Olt .
