La Panouse is located in the Massif Central and borders in the north-west with Saint-Denis-en-Margeride (point of contact) and Saint-Paul-le-Froid , in the north-east with Grandrieu , in the south-east with Saint-Sauveur-de-Ginestoux and in the south-west with Monts- de-Randon with La Villedieu . The Col des Trois Sœurs pass at 1,452 meters above sea level connects the village with La Villedieu.
